Map of
Woodton |
| Of particular interest to
visitors to the area especially our many friends from the USA,
are the former second world war air bases of Seething, Flixton,
Topcroft and Hardwick, all within a radius of 2 to 7 miles, many
of which house museums and monuments in recognition of the
American contribution.
Only 20 miles away is the lively resort of Great Yarmouth, with its pleasure beach, amusements, theatres, brilliant illuminations and lively night-life with its "kiss me quick" atmosphere - a 'must' for the young at heart. The nearby Suffolk coastline and surrounding countryside has much to offer. Only a 30 minute drive away is the refined seaside resort of Southwold, well known for its Adnams Brewery still delivering by horse and dray, lighthouse and traditonal colourful beach huts. A pebbles throw away is Dunwich where you can enjoy a delicious meal of fish and chips on the beach. A little further south is the interesting seaside town of Aldeburgh, whilst inland is the equally famous Snape Maltings acclaimed for its annual Festival of Music and Arts in June. To the west of Suffolk is Lavenham - a beautiful town with an abundance of 14 C - 16C timber framed houses. No visitor to East Anglia should go home without visiting this picturesque town. |
